Women’s Basketball Snaps Losing Skid With Win Over FDU-Madison

Bronx, N.Y. – Forward Brianna Barnes posted a 'double-double' with 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Lehman College women's basketball team snapped a five-game losing streak as it defeated visiting FDU-Madison, 61-31, in a non-conference encounter on Wednesday evening at The APEX Main Gym.  The Lightning improved to a 3-6 overall record, while the Devils dropped to a 0-7 mark.

After FDU-Madison took a 4-2 lead early on, Lehman went on a 15 -0 run to end the first quarter and limited the visitors to just nine total points going into the intermission.

In the second half, the Lightning held off any comeback from Devils as they were outscored 17-13 and 10-9, in the third and fourth periods, respectively, for the victory.

Forward Barbara Valentin had a career-high 11 points for Lehman, while teammate Kryshana Levy added 10 points.

The Lightning will have a two-week break before they return to action hosting the two-day CUNY Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament at The APEX starting on December 28th when it takes on Penn College at 2 pm ET.
