The Lehman College women's basketball team lost to Baruch 55-39 as the Lightning welcomed back fans to the APEX.
Lehman (3-14:2-8) led after the first quarter 9-2 thanks in part to pressure defense and poor shooting by the Bearcats. But in the second quarter it was all Baruch (9-9:7-4) as they outscored the Lightning 18-6 to take a 20-15 lead into the locker room at halftime. In the third the Bearcats were able to keep up the pressure outscoring Lehman 19-8. Lehman played much better the final 10 minutes but were not able to get any closer.
Brianna Barnes led the way for the Lightning with 25 points and nine rebounds. Baruch had three players in double figures led by Mia Castillo's 15 points.
The Lightning will return to action on Sunday to face York in the APEX at noon. Lehman College students are once welcome with a valid Lehman College ID. If you are unable to make to get on campus you can follow along via
