The Lehman College Men's Basketball team (16-2:9-1) extended their winning streak to five with an 80-64 victory over visiting Brooklyn (16-2:9-1).
Mo Idrissou led the Lightning playing all 40 minutes scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. It was only his second double double of the season.
Isaiah Geathers and
Gian Batista chipped in 21 and 19 points respectively. While
Lennox DeGrasse scored eight points and grabbed a season high 11rebounds.
The Lightning jumped out to a 25-6 run to start the game and never looked back. Brooklyn was able to trim the lead to 16, 40-24 at intermission. Seven minutes into the second half the Bulldogs were able to trim the deficit to six (51-46) before Lehman would push the lead back up to 11. However, the Bulldogs would not just give up that easily and once again were able to go on a spurt to cut the Lightning lead to five (59-54) with just over seven minutes to play. After Batista drained a three with four minutes remaining the lead was back to double figures where it stayed the remainder of the contest.
The Lightning will hit the road for three straight games before returning to the APEX next Saturday to host Baruch. Lehman will take on York College-NY, tomorrow (2/6) at noon.
