The Lightning fell 86 -48 to Brooklyn College, the team sitting in first place in the CUNYAC. The Bulldogs picked up the series sweep to improve to 15-2 overall and 9-0 in conference play. Lehman now sits at 3-11 overall and 2-5 in the CUNYAC.
Brooklyn exploded right from the start as they dominated the first quarter out-scoring the Lightning 27-10. Lehman played much better in the second period, cutting the deficit to 38-26 at the half as
Mojisola Shokeye scored seven of her game high 18 points in the period. The Bulldogs prevented the Lightning from making a comeback as they scored 31 points in the third quarter compared to seven for Lehman. The Lightning would not get any closer.
Brianna Barnes added 11 points and grabbed a team high eight rebounds in the contest.
Lehman returns to action on Wednesday night as they travel to Manhattan to face Hunter on Monday at 5 PM.
