Chinera Ortiz netted 14 points, but it wasn't enough as Hunter (5-12:2-5) defeated Lehman (3-12:2-6) 70-48.
The Lightning offense struggled all night shooting only .306 (19-62) from the field. Lehman fell behind early as the Hawks jumped out to a 13-4 lead after five minutes of play. Hunter was able to extend their advantage to 24-10 as the first quarter ended. The Hawks kept the pressure on, outscoring the Lightning 18-7 in the second quarter. Despite going on an 8-2 to end the third quarter Lehman still found themselves trailing after 30 minutes. The Lightning did win the fourth quarter, outscoring the Hawks 16-10 in the final period.
The Lightning will continue their tour of Manhattan as they travel to the west side to face John Jay on Wednesday evening.
