After taking the first set 27-25 the Lightning dropped the next three sets to fall 3-1 to John Jay in a CUNYAC contest to earn the season sweep.
Ray Rodriguez led the way for Lehman (5-12:1-7) with 17 kills.
Christian Agudo was credited with 28 assists and a pair of aces as well as a team high 11 digs.
The Bloodhounds took set two 25-20. John Jay won set three and four by the identical score of 25-14.
The Lightning jumped out to an early lead in the opening set and owned a 24-20 advantage before the Bloodhounds scored four straight points to knot the set. After the teams traded points Rodriguez delivered a pair of kills to give the Lightning a hard-fought opening set victory. In set two, the Bloodhounds led wire to wire to even the match. In the third set, with the score tied at four, John Jay went on a 4-0 run to take control. The Lightning got as close as three points on several occasions but could not come any closer. In the fourth set, the Bloodhounds jumped out to a 7-1 lead and never looked back.
Lehman returns to action on Tuesday night as they host Brooklyn College at 7 PM in the APEX.
