Box Score Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College softball team posted its first victories since 2019 as it swept a non-conference doubleheader from visiting Yeshiva University on Tuesday evening at South Field.  The Lightning improve to a 2-2 overall record this season, while the Maccabees fall to 0-4 mark.

Lehman took the twin-bill opener by score of 24-1 with Kaycee Isley and Taina Santamaria pacing the offense with five RBI each.  Isley also scored four times, hit a home run, stole two bases and went three-for-four. Meanwhile Santamaria crossed the plate on three occasions and had two doubles.  Mich Firas also had a double and drove in four runs, while Nazar Samantha pitched five-inning one-hitter, while striking out 12 batters for her first Lightning victory.

In the nightcap, Lehman posted an 18-2 victory. Dolly Diaz led the way for Lightning with six RBI, while going two-for-three with two runs scored.  Samanatha Nazar drove in three runs while crossing the plate twice and going one-for-two with a triple.  Meanwhile on the mound, Sky Mercado pitched five strong innings while striking out six batters for her first collegiate win.

The Lightning will return to action on March 30, when they hosts York College-NY in a CUNYA Twin-Bill set for 5 pm ET.
