Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team dropped a four set non-conference encounter (17-25, 32-30, 12-25, 14-25) to visiting John Jay College on Thursday evening at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning drop to 1-4 overall record, while the Bloodhounds improve to 4-0 mark.
After losing the first set, Lehman trailed 9-3 early in the second game before going on a 29-21 run to even the match. However, the Lightning dropped the next two sets to the Bloodhounds.
Outside hitter
Daria Hernandez led the Lehman offense with eight kills, while teammate
Selena Mitchell had six kills and middle blocker
Sky Mercado hit five kills. Libero
Andrea Alarcon grabbed 17 digs, while setter
Heder Rodriguez was a dig shy of 'double-double' as she had nine along with 16 assists.
The Lightning will once again hosts the Bloodhounds, this time in CUNYAC play, when they square off next Tuesday (September 20
th) at The APEX with the first serve set for 7 pm ET.
