New York, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's and women's swimming team dropped a CUNYAC Dual Meet against hosts Baruch College at Arc Arena Pool on Thursday evening with the men's squad dropping a 115-62 decision, while the women's side fell 98-69.
The Lightning men (2-6; 0-2 CUNYAC) were paced by
Brandon Coombs and
Andres Estrella as they each walked away with two gold medals each. Coombs' won the 50 Freestyle (25.75), while Estrella captured the 100 Breaststroke (1:22.53). Both were also on the winning 200 Freestyle Relay Team (2:04.29) alongside
Brahian Castillo and
Tri Dinh.
Lehman women (1-7; 0-3 CUNYAC) was led by
Arlene Suzana as she won the 100 (1:07.93) and 200 Freestyle (2:28.25) events, while
Ofelia Valadez also claimed gold in the 100 Breaststroke (1:39.52).
Nusrat Alam,
Kaylene Crespo,
Mariana Valdes Martinez and
Grisley Velez were on the winning 200 Freestyle Relay squad as they clocked in at 3:12.55.
The Lightning are back in action next Tuesday (January 17
th) as the women's team visits John Jay College in a CUNYAC match-up starting at 6 pm ET.
