New York, N.Y. – Despite 20 points scored by forward
Brianna Barnes wasn't enough for Lehman College women's basketball team as it fell by 84-49 against hosts John Jay College in a CUNYAC encounter at The Doghouse on Saturday afternoon. The Lightning drop to a 6-9 overall mark and 2-3 in CUNYAC action, while the Bloodhounds go to a 9-7 record and 3-2 in conference play.
Lehman jumped to a 14-13 lead after the first quarter, however, John Jay went on a 19 to 7 run to take an 11-point advantage (32-21) going into the intermission.
The Bloodhounds continued to dominate the encounter as they posted 26 points in each the third and fourth, periods, respectively, while limiting the Lightning to just 28 points combined points in the second half for the victory.
Forward
Barbara Valentin was the only other Lehman player in double figures as she notched 12 points.
The Lightning continue CUNYAC play next Wednesday (January 18
th) when they welcome Baruch College at The APEX Main Gym with tip-off set for 5 pm ET.
