Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team won its home opener in three straight sets (25-11, 25-19, 25-18) over Purchase College during a non-conference match-up on Monday evening at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning improved to a 2-1 overall record, while the Panthers dropped to a 1-3 mark.
After taking the first two sets, Lehman trailed 9-5 in the third game. Then, the Lightning went on a 20 to 9 run to closed out the set and win the match.
Miguel Gonzalez and
Ray Rodriguez had nine kills each for Lehman, while
Andrew Figueroa notched eight kills.
Christian Agudo dished out 24 assists with six service aces.
The Lightning are back in action next month (February 11
th) when they host a non-conference tri-match against Saint Elizabeth and Widener Universities, respectively.
