Bronx, N.Y. – The hosts Lehman College men's volleyball team lost both non-conference matches on Saturday against Saint Elizabeth University and Widener University at The APEX Main Gym.
The Lightning (2-3) dropped the opening match against Widener Pride (8-6) in three straight sets (25-21, 25-16, 25-17). Outside hitter
Ray Rodriguez led the Lehman offense with nine kill and seven digs, while teammates
Christopher Gil had four kills and
Christian Agudo dished out 17 assists.
In the nightcap, the Lightning dropped a heartbreaking five-set thriller (25-23, 24-26, 25-18, 25-27, 15-9) to St. Elizabeth Eagles (2-1). Rodriguez paced Lehman with a 'double-double' as he notched 13 kills and 18 digs, while Agudo also got a 'double-double' as he dished out 23 assists and grabbed 11 digs.
The Lightning commence CUNYAC action next Thursday (February 16
th) when they welcome CCNY at The APEX Main Gym with first serve set for 7 pm ET.
