Lightning Swimmers Drop CUNYAC Dual Meet To Brooklyn

Brooklyn, N.Y. – The Lehman College swimming team dropped a CUNYAC Dual Meet to hosts Brooklyn College on Thursday at the West Quad Pool with men's side falling by a score of 70-61, while the women's squad lost 66-47.
 
The Lightning men (2-4; 0-3 CUNYAC) were led by Andres Estrella and Christopher Ramirez as they each walked away with two gold medals; as both were part of winning 200 Medley Relay side along with Brihian Castillo and Musa Mazreko as they clocked in at 2:21.67.  Estrella claimed first place in the 500 Freestyle (6:30.70), while Ramirez finished atop in the 1000 Freestyle (16:39.24).  Also, capturing gold on Thursday was Tri Dinh in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 28.81.
 
Meanwhile, Xitlali Martinez and Mariana Valdez paced the Lehman women (1-5; 0-2 CUNYAC) as both claimed two gold medals each.  Martinez won the 50 Freestyle (32.08), while Valdez took first in the 100 Freestyle (1:18.05).  Both were also on the winning 200 Medley Relay side (2:56.60) along with Kaylene Crespo and Gisely Velez. 
 
The Lightning are back in action next Tuesday (January 10th) when they hosts William Paterson University in a non-conference dual meet at The APEX Pool with the first event set for 6 pm ET.
