Men’s Soccer Defeat Baruch; Jump To First In CUNYAC Standings

New York, N.Y. – Forward Phillip Osei had both goals for the Lehman College men's soccer team as it jumped to first place in the CUNYAC Standings after a 2-1 win over hosts Baruch College on Wednesday at Columbia University's Rocco B. Commisso Stadium.  The playoff bound Lightning go to a 6-5 overall ledger and 5-1 in CUNYAC action, while the Bearcats drop to a 6-6 mark and 5-2 in conference play.

Lehman got on the board first with five minutes remaining in the opening half after Osei header off a pass from defender Nhlakanipho Linda beat Baruch goalkeeper Jon Legasa.

After the Bearcats' midfielder Andrew Kinal tied the encounter 1-1 in the 47th minute-mark, Osei notched the game-winner three minutes later off an assist from defender Butrious Baah.

Goalkeeper Andres Barajas made six key saves for the Lightning who take over first place in the CUNYAC Standings.

Lehman, which already secured a postseason berth, controls its destiny in claiming the regular season conference crown as it welcomes Medgar Evers College at South Field on Saturday (October 21st) with kickoff set for 4 pm ET.
