Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team fell in three straight sets (10-25, 11-25, 5-25) to visiting Baruch College in the CUNYAC match on Wednesday evening at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning go to a 3-16 overall record and 2-5 in CUNYAC action, while the Bearcats improved to a 10-13 mark and 6-1 in conference play.
After dropping the first set, Lehman took a 4-3 lead in the second. However, the Baruch went on a 22 to 7 run to take the second set. The Baruch then followed up by claiming the third set and winning the match.
Arianna Calderon and
Daria Hernandez were the highlights for the Lightning as they had three kills each. Hernandez also had seven digs, while
Melissa Santos grabbed nine.
Lehman will now focus on CUNYAC Postseason action as the tournament's #6 seed as it travels to take on #3 seeded John Jay College on Tuesday (November 7th).
