The Lightning women's volleyball team got knocked out of the CUNYAC Playoffs falling in the opening round to third seed John Jay in three straight. The Bloodhounds prevailed 25-7, 25-6,and 25-19 to improve to 18-8 overall while the Lightning own a 3-17 record.
Arianna Calderon led the Lightning with 3 kills, 8 digs and a block.
In the first set the Bloodhounds jumped out to a 13-1 lead and never looked back. After starting set number two 10-1, John Jay cruised to victory prevailing 25-6 in the second set. In the third set, the Lightning were able to stay close early, trailing 9-6 before the Bloodhounds scored five straight points to take a commanding 14-9 advantage. Trailing 23-14, Lehman went on a 4-0 run but were unable to finish the comeback.
Lehman will conclude the season on Thursday as they host the Maccabees of Yeshiva University at 7 PM in the APEX. Lehman will honor the two seniors on the squad in a pre-match ceremony. Fans unable to attend the match can follow all of the action via live stats or live stream.
