Bronx, N.Y. – Despite a 'double-double' (38 points, 12 rebounds) from forward Ramatoulaye "Rama" Diallo wasn't enough as the Lehman College women's basketball dropped a close, 70-67, home encounter to non-conference opponent Saint Elizabeth University on Saturday at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning go to an 0-3 overall record, while the Eagles improved to a 2-0 mark.
Trailing 69-63 with 1:20 remaining in the fourth quarter, Lehman went on a 4-0 run to cut the Saint Elizabeth advantage to just a single basket (69-67) with 52 seconds left in the game.
After the Eagles made one of two free-throws for a three-point lead with seven seconds left, a Lightning turnover which later was forced to commit a foul was the end of the possible comeback for the hosts.
Guard
Shawnasia O'Faire notched 15 points with eight boards for Lehman, while Myandra "Meme" Duquesnay added nine points and 13 rebounds.
The Lightning will be back in action next Friday (November 17th) when they travel to West Hartford, Conn., to take on the hosts University of Saint Joseph in a Tip-Off Tournament at 6 pm ET.
