Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's and women's swimming and diving teams swept its respective non-conference tri-meets at The APEX Pool on Saturday. The Lightning men (3-1) defeated Western Connecticut State, 115-87 and SUNY-Delhi, 142-10, while the Lehman women (2-3) posted triumph scores of 68-3 and 96-0, against the respective same opponents.
The Lehman men were paced by
Brandon Coombs who clocked in first in the 50 Butterfly (25.16) and 100 Freestyle (49.84), while
Jefferson Tejera finished atop in the 50 Freestyle (23.17) and 500 Freestyle (5:46.16).
Romulo Valadez also claimed gold for the Lightning in the 50 (29.55) and 100 Backstroke (1:04.73), while
Adam Byrne tapped in first in the 50 Breaststroke (30.47). All four (Byrne, Coombs, Tejera and Valadez) were on the winning 200 Medley Relay Team that finished in a time of 1:46.92.
On the women's side,
Marlena Thoma captured gold in the 50 Backstroke (42.07), while Gisely Velez was first in the 50 Freestyle (34.66).
Aisling Burgos,
Massiel Lora,
Bailey Reeves and
Danelli Lora were on the 200 Freestyle Relay Team that earned gold with a time of 3:10.61.
The Lightning are back in action on Tuesday (November 28th) when they travel for a non-conference meet at Purchase College with the first event set for 6 pm ET.
