Despite 29 points from Rama Diallo the Lightning women's basketball team came out on the short side of an 81-57 decision against visiting Gallaudet University on Saturday afternoon in the APEX. The Bison now stand at 4-5 while the Lightning are 0-8.
This was only the second time in the last ten years that the two schools battled each other on the hardwood. In December of 2013 the Lightning prevailed 75-70 in the championship game of the Gallaudet Holiday Tournament. It was Coach Eric Harrison 225
th career victory.
Lehman trailed by eight after the first quarter (18-10) and never got any closer. The Bison extended their advantage taking a 40-27 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Bison outscore the Lightning 41-30 in the second half to secure the victory.
Four Bison player tallied double digits as Cassidy Perry led the way with 19 points.
The Lightning return to action on Monday night to face York College in the CUNYAC opener for both teams. Action from Jamaica getting underway at 7 PM.
