Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman college baseball team fell by a score of 19-6 to visiting St. Joseph's University-LI, in a non-conference encounter, at South Field on Saturday. The Lightning go to an 0-5 overall record, while the Golden Eagles improved to a 7-2 mark.
Lehman trailed 4-1 going into the top of the fourth inning, however St. Joseph's-LI scored eight times to increase their lead to 12-1.
After the Lightning got three runs in their bottom half of the fifth inning, the Golden Eagles went on a 6 to 2 run for the rest of the game for the victory.
Infielder
Nomar Rijo paced the offense for Lehman going two-for-three with a homer, three runs scored and two RBI, while teammate
Ranssel Pinedo went three-for-five with two RBI. Outfielder
Elias Femin added a three-for-three performance, while crossing the plate twice and a homer run.
The Lightning are back in action on Sunday (March 19
th) when it travels to take on Maritime College in a non-conference twin-bill set for noon.
