Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team lost both CUNYAC games against visiting Baruch College, 16-3, 10-2, at South Field on Saturday. The Lightning go to a 3-16 overall record and 3-3 in CUNYAC action, while the Bearcats improved to a 7-10 mark and 5-1 in conference play.
Lehman fell behind early (7-0) and was unable to recover in the opener. The highlights for the Lightning were infielder
Justin Nunez as he went two-for-three with two RBI, while outfielder
Jeremmy Santos also went two-for-three from the plate with a run scored and RBI.
In the nightcap, Lehman trailed 5-2 after five innings of action, however Baruch scored five times in the sixth for the victory. Designated hitter
Elias Fermin was two-for-two with a run scored, while Santos went one-for-three and drove in both of Lightning runs.
Lehman returns to action next Wednesday (April 19th) when it travels to take on Saint Elizabeth University in a non-conference encounter with first pitch set for 4 pm ET.
