The Lehman College women's volleyball team (1-3) dropped a straight set (25-15, 25-11, 25-12) decision at home to the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) on Tuesday evening. 
 
Midway through the first set the Privateers held a four-point advantage (12-8).  The Lead remained at four (16-12) until the USMMA (3-1) went on a 4-0 run to take control of the set en route to a 25-15 first set victory.  In set number 2, Kings Point jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back.  Lehman was able to cut the advantage to 10-8 but the Privateers rallied winning ten of the next 11 points to finally close out the set 25-11.  In the third, the Privateers jumped out to an 8-1 advantage.  Lehman battled back to cut the lead to three (13-10), but would not get any closer. 
The Lightning were led 
Ana Mena's 4 kills and 5 assists.  
Diamond Simmonds was credited with a pair of service aces and 
Melissa Santos led the team with 8 digs. 
 
Lehman returns to action on Thursday night when they travel to John Jay as the open up CUNYAC play against the Bloodhounds.  First serve is scheduled for 6 PM.
