Box Score New York, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team dropped its CUNYAC Conference Opener on Thursday evening as it lost in three sets (9-25, 8-25, 6-25) to hosts John Jay College at The Doghouse.  The Lightning go to a 1-4 overall record and 0-1 in CUNYAC action, while the Bloodhounds improved to a 5-1 mark and 3-0 in conference play.

Lehman only trailed by a point early in the opening set (5-4), however John Jay went on a 20 to 5 run to take the set.  The Bloodhounds continued to claim the next two sets for the victory.

The Lightning highlight was Melissa Santos as she had three kills, while Arianna Calderon grabbed six digs.

Lehman is back in action on Friday (September 15th) when it greets St. Joseph's University-NY in a non-conference encounter at The APEX Main Gym with first serve set for 6 pm ET.
