Daria Hernandez had six kills and seven digs to pace the Lehman College women's volleyball team as it defeated visiting University of Valley Forge in three sets (25-17, 25-22, 25-17), in a non-conference match-up, at The APEX Main Gym on Wednesday. The Lightning improved to a 1-2 overall ledger, while the Patriots fell to a 0-3 mark.
After taking the first set, Lehman trailed 17-15 late in the second. However, the Lightning went on a 10 to 5 run to take the set and then claimed its first victory of the season after also capturing the third set.
Arianna Calderon added five kills and five digs for the Lightning, while
Ana Mena dished out 12 assists along with seven serves aces and six digs.
Lehman continues its home stand next Tuesday (September 12th) when it welcomes Maritime College in a non-conference affair at The APEX Main Gym with first serve set for 6 pm ET.
