New York, N.Y. – A 33-point performance from forward Ramatoulaye "Rama" Diallo wasn't enough as the Lehman College women's basketball team lost a CUNYAC encounter, 69-51, to hosts Baruch College, at the Arc Arena on Saturday. The Lightning go to a 4-13 overall record and 3-4 in CUNYAC action, while the Bearcats improved to a 10-7 mark and 5-1 in conference play.
Lehman held Baruch to a 13-13 tie at the end of the first quarter, however the Bearcats went on a 20 to 8 run to take a 12 point-lead at the intermission. After Baruch outscored Lehman 21 to 12 in the third period, the Lightning attempted a comeback with an 18 to 15 run in the fourth, however the hosts held on for the victory.
Center Myandra "Meme" Duquesnay added to the Lehman offense on Saturday with a 'double-double' as she scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
The Lightning are back in action Monday (January 22nd) when they travel to Massachusetts for a non-conference affair against Amherst College with tip-off set for 4 pm ET.
