Haverford, Pa. – The bulk of Lehman College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Seamus McElligott Invitational, hosted by Haverford College on Saturday, while Lightning's
Brian Cruz saw action at the Dr. Sanders Invitational hosted by Columbia University at the New York Armory.
Cruz, set a new school record in the Heptathlon. He completed the seven events over the past two days scoring 3046 points, to finish tenth overall. He posted a 7.57 in the 60m, 10.76 in the 60 Hurdles, 1,61m in the high jump, 5.56m in the long jump, a 1.90m in the pole vault, a 9.23m in the shot put and a 3.26.9 in the 1000 meters.
At the Seamus McElligott Invite, the Lehman men was led by
Jonathan Augustin who finished ninth in the Triple Jump (11.57m), while
Alexander Agyemang was 12th in the 400 Meters (59.66).
Ismael Barry took 10th spot in the 60 Meters (7.44) and 12th in the 200 Meters (24.28).
Meanwhile, the Lightning women claimed the bronze medal in the 4x200 Relay at Haverford meet with the group of
Ariana Campbell, Colby Corley,
Aminata Sissoko &
Amariah Emanuel-Tyler clocking in at 2:07.81. Sissoko also finished 11th in the 400 Meters (1:08.85) and 18th in the 200 Meters (29.29), while
Nidia Nelson took 12th place in the Shot Put (8.74m). Corley claimed 13th spot in the 400 Meters (1:10.85) and 20th in 200 Meters (29.37), while Emanuel-Tyler and Campbell were placed 14th (1:21.41) and 15th (1:23.27), respectively, in the 400 Meters.
Lehman returns to action next Sunday (February 4th) when it travels to Pennsylvania take part at the East Stroudsburg University DeSchriver Invitational.
