Brooklyn, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team dropped a five-set (25-21, 20-25, 25-20, 13-25, 4-15) heartbreaker to hosts Brooklyn College, in a CUNYAC affair, on Thursday evening at the West Quad Center. The Lightning go to a 5-12 overall record and 2-3 in CUNYAC play, while the Bulldogs improved to a 12-9 mark and 3-1 in conference action.
After Lehman took two sets to one lead, Brooklyn came back and won the fourth set to send the match to the deciding fifth set. Bulldogs claimed the final set to win the match.
Ariana Calderson led the Lightning offense with a 'double-double' (10 kills, 16 digs), while
Alanis Vasquez posted seven kills, 22 digs and four service aces.
Cheyenne Gray-Taitt added five kills, while
Marlena Thoma grabbed 20 digs and
Ana Mena dished out 18 assists with nine digs.
Lehman returns to action next Tuesday (October 29th) when it hosts Yeshiva University, in a non-conference match-up, at The APEX Main Gym with first serve set for 8 pm ET.
