Box Score Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's volleyball team defeated visiting Yeshiva University, in a five-set non-conference thriller (22-25, 25-17, 25-20, 16-25, 17-15) on Tuesday evening, at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning ended a five-match losing streak to improve to a 6-12 overall record on the season, while the Maccabees' extended their losing skid to nine as they go to a 2-10 mark.
After losing the first set, Lehman bounced back and won the next two. However, Yeshiva rebounded and claimed the fourth set to send the match to the fifth and final set. The Lightning came out victorious in the fifth set to claim the match.
Erika Vasquez led the offense for Lehman with 10 kills, while grabbing six kills.
Alanis Vasquez notched a 'double-double' (10 service aces, 12 digs) and was two kills shy (eight) from earning a 'triple-double.'
Jessica Narvaez dished out 18 assists for the Lightning, while
Marlena Thoma had 15 digs.
Lehman is back in action on Friday (November 1st) when it travels to take on New Jersey City University in a non-conference match at 7 pm ET.
