Brooklyn, N.Y. – Erika Vasquez had seven kills to lead the Lehman College women's volleyball team to a three-set victory (25-14, 25-17, 25-15) against the hosts Medgar Evers College, in a CUNYAC encounter, at the Cougars Cave, on Thursday evening.  The Lightning go to a 4-8 overall record and 2-1 in conference action, while the Cougars dropped to a 1-10 mark and 0-3 in CUNYAC play.

After winning the first two sets, Lehman trailed 10-8 in the third.  Then, the Lightning went on a 17 to 5 run to win the third set and the match.

Alanis Vasquez notched six kills with nine service aces and five digs, while Marlene Thoma had six aces and digs.  Elainne Rojas Mesa added five kills, while Ana Mena dished out 12 assists and grabbed seven digs for Lehman.

The Lightning are back in action on Saturday (October 5th) when they travel for a CUNYAC Tri-Match against Medgar and the hosts Brooklyn College.
