Morristown, N.J. – Despite a 'double-double' (26 points, 10 rebounds) from guard
Heaven Figueroa, the Lehman College women's basketball team lost its season opener at non-conference opponent Saint Elizabeth University, 58-51, on Saturday. The Lightning go to an 0-1 overall record, while the Eagles improved to a 1-0 mark.
After Lehman jumped to an early 7-3 lead in the first period, St. Elizabeth went on a 14 to 4 run to take a six-point advantage and then never trailed after that.

Emily Kennedy added 11 points and six rebounds to the Lightning offense, while center
Nikol Gnoutou grabbed nine rebounds and scored five points.
Lehman will have its home opener next Tuesday (November 12th) when it faces Rutgers-Newark, in a non-conference encounter, at The APEX Main Gym with tip-off set for 6 pm ET.
