The Lehman College Indoor Track and Field teams kicked off their season today at the Rutgers Holiday Classic.  The meet was contested in Upper Manhattan at the Armory.

Leading the way for the Lightning men was Nelson Benzan Jr.  The senior picked up a pair of    top ten finishes in the weight throw and the shot put.  In the shot put, he placed seventh with a mark of 12.04m and followed that up with a seventh place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 14. 17m.  He was the top Division III finisher in both events.  Newcomer Oryan Thomas posted a time of 23.41 to finish fifth in the 200m.  In the 800m, Oludemilade Lekan Michael (2:35.44) and Charles Howard (2:58.76) finished third and fourth respectively.

In the women's competition, Colby Corley finished eighth in the 400m in a time of 1:16.38. Elainne Rojas Mesa placed tenth in the weight throw with a mark of 7.58m. 

The Lightning return to action next Friday at the Wagner College Seahawk Shootout.
