Brooklyn, N.Y. – Nine kills each by
Alain Abreu Esteva and
Andrew Figueroa led the Lehman College men's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory (25-18, 25-27, 25-9, 25-18) against hosts Medgar Evers College, in a CUNYAC match-up, at the Cougars Cave on Tuesday evening. The Lightning go to a 3-7 overall record and 1-1 in conference action, while the Cougars drop to a 0-1 mark (overall and CUNYAC).
After taking the first set, Lehman lost a close second set to Medgar. With the sets tied, the Lightning posted consecutive victories in the third and fourth to take the match.
Esteva added six aces and eight digs to the Lehman offense, while
Ray Rodriguez notched seven kills, eight digs and four aces.
Neithan Pilay posted five kills, while
Emmanuel Oladosu had six aces along with three digs and blocks.
Chris Mata contributed dishing out 28 assists and five digs.
The Lightning return to action on Thursday (February 29th) when it travels to take on Baruch College, in a CUNYAC encounter, at 6 pm ET.
