Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team dropped its 2024 season's home opener, 22-5, to non-conference opponent Saint Elizabeth University on Wednesday at South Field. The Lightning go to an 0-2 record, while the Eagles improved to a 3-6 mark.
After Saint Elizabeth took a 16-0 lead after two and a half innings of action, Lehman scored five runs in the bottom of the third. However, the Eagles crossed home plate six more times in the next four innings for the victory.
The highlight for the Lightnings was shortstop
Ryan Rosa as he went one-for-three with a run scored and three RBI. Catcher
Brandon Deynes also crossed home plate and drove in a run, while second baseman
Erik Then added a run and a hit.
Lehman continues its homestand at South Field on Friday (March 15th) when it welcomes non-conference foe College of Mount Saint Vincent at 3 pm ET.
