Old Westbury, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team lost both games of the non-conference twin-bill to hosts College at Old Westbury, 21-7 & 11-2, on Sunday. The Lightning go to an 0-5 overall record, while the Panthers improved to a 4-5 mark.
In the opener, Lehman jumped to an early 1-0 advantage in the top of first, however Old Westbury answered with five runs on the bottom half of the inning and then four more in the second to pull away for the victory. Second baseman
Erik Then went two-for-four with a run scored and three RBI for the Lightning, while first baseman Elias Ferman was perfect at bat (three-for-three) with a run scored and two RBI.
In the nightcap, Lehman once again opened the game scoring with a 1-0 edge after two and half innings, however, Old Westbury notched three runs in the bottom of the third and then added three more in the fourth and five in the fifth for the win. Tran Hennessy scored the other run for the Lightning.
Lehman returns to action on Wednesday (March 20th) when it travels to take on Rutgers-Newark in a non-conference game at 3:30 pm ET.
