Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team dropped a three-set (16-25, 24-26, 15-25) CUNYAC match to visiting Hunter College on Thursday evening at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning go to a 7-12 overall record and 4-6 in CUNYAC action, while the Hawks improved to a 12-8 mark and 10-1 in conference play.
After losing the first set (25-16), Lehman battled back in the second set and took advantage of Hunter's 10 service error for a 24-22 lead, however, the visiting side went on a 4-0 run to win the set. It was also the first time since 2018 that the Lightning score 24 points against the Hawks in a set. Hunter captured the match on Thursday by taking the third set.
Ray Rodriguez led Lehman's offense with seven kills, while
Alain Abreu Esteva added five kills and
Almir Pepic had four kills.
Andrew Figueroa grabbed 10 digs, while
Christian Agudo dished out 18 assists.
The Lightning continue their home stand at The APEX on Friday (March 22
nd) when they take on Medgar Evers College in a CUNYAC encounter with first serve set for 7 pm ET.
