Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team topped visiting York College-NY in three sets (25-19, 26-24, 25-19), in a CUNYAC match, on Tuesday, at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning go to a 9-12 overall ledger and 6-6 in CUNYAC action, while the Cardinals fall to a 2-14 mark and 2-10 in conference play.
After taking the first set, Lehman trailed in the second, 15-13. However, the Lightning went on a 13 to 9 run to win the second set. Lehman captured the third set to claim the match.
Alain Abreu Esteva led the Lightning offense with a 'double-double' as he hit for 12 kills and grabbed 11 digs, while
Ray Rodriguez posted nine kills, four service aces and 18 digs.
Andrew Figueroa notched seven kills, while
Almir Pepic had six kills and
Christian Agudo dished out 35 assists with nine digs.
Lehman continues CUNYAC action on Thursday (March 28th) when it welcomes Baruch College at The APEX with first serve set for 7 pm ET.
