Baseball Lose Twice At CCNY

New Rochelle, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team lost both CUNYAC doubleheader encounters, 16-3, 15-2, on Saturday.  The Lightning go to an 0-19 overall record and 0-8 in CUNYAC play, while the Beavers improved to a 7-17 mark and 4-2 in conference action.

In the opener, Lehman trailed 4-0 after two innings of action.  In the top of the third, the Lightning scored twice to cut the deficit to 4-2.  However, the Beavers got a run in the bottom of the third inning and then added three more in the fourth to eventually put away for the victory.  First baseman Elias Ferman was two-for-three for Lehman with two runs scored, while right fielder Kevin Arias was two-for-four with two RBI.

In the nightcap, the Lightning were in a 9-0 deficit going into the top of fifth, when they cut the lead after notching two runs (9-2).  However, the Beavers added six more runs for the win.  Fermin once again pace the Lehman offense going two-for-four with a run scored and RBI.

Lehman continues its road swing when it visits University of Valley Forge in a non-conference twin-bill on Monday (April 22nd) with first pitch set for 2 pm ET.
