Sanatoga, Pa. – The Lehman College baseball team dropped a non-conference twin-bill at University of Valley Forge, 5-3, 17-2, on Monday at The UVF Ballpark. The Lightning go to an 0-21 overall record, while the Patriots improved to a 10-25 mark.
In the opener, Valley Forge had a 5-1 lead going into the last inning, when Lehman scored twice to cut the deficit to two runs. However, the Patriots held on for the victory. Leftfielder
Kevin Arias went two-for-three with a run scored and RBI for the Lightning, while designated hitter
Manuel Corniel also was two-for-three with an RBI.
In the nightcap, Lehman jumped to a 2-0 advantage early on, however Valley Forge scored six runs in the second inning, one in the third and 10 more in the fourth for the win. Shortstop
Ryan Rosa was three-for-three with a run scored for the Lightning, while first baseman
Elias Fermin went two-for-three with a run and RBI.
Lehman returns to action on Wednesday (April 24th) when it welcomes non-conference opponent Maritime College in its home finale at South Field with first pitch set for 4 pm ET.
