Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team lost a five-set non-conference match (22-25, 25-20, 25-17, 15-25, 9-15) to visiting Bard College during its home regular season finale on Thursday evening at The APEX Main Gym. The Lightning go to a 10-14 overall record, while the Raptors improve to a 9-17 mark.
Prior to the encounter, the Lehman athletics department honored seniors
Christian Agudo and
Andrew Figueroa as they played their final regular season home match.
After each side won two sets, the Lightning jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the fifth set. However, the Raptors went on a 15 to 5 run to claim the set and the match.
Ray Rodriguez led the Lehman offense with eight kills and 12 digs, while
Alain Abreu Esteva notched eight kills and seven digs. Figueroa hit six kills and nine digs, while Agudo dished out 32 assists with nine digs and six service aces.
The playoff bound Lightning are the fourth seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Championships and will hosts an opening round match against the fifth seeded Brooklyn College at The APEX Main Gym next Tuesday (April 9th) at 6 pm ET.
