Baseball Drop Twin-Bill To Baruch

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College baseball team dropped a CUNYAC twin-bill to visiting Baruch College, 6-2 and 17-2, on Saturday at South Field.  The Lightning go to an 0-13 record and 0-4 in CUNYAC action, while the Bearcats improved to a 3-9 mark and 2-0 in conference play.

Trailing 2-0 after five innings of action in the opener, Lehman surrendered four more runs in the sixth for a 6-0 advantage in favor of Baruch.  The Lightning attempted a comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning when outfielder Eli Fermin drove in two runs off his double, however, the Bearcats held on for the victory.

In the nightcap, Baruch jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back after that.  Fermin had a pair of doubles for Lehman with a run scored, while infielders Erik Then and Tran Hennessy each drove in runs.

The Lightning return to action next Wednesday (April 10th) when they host Farmingdale State College in a non-conference doubleheader at South Field with first pitch set for 3 pm ET.
