Box Score 2 Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College softball team concludes its season with a non-conference twin-bill sweep of York College-NY, 23-0 and 17-1, at South Field on Tuesday. The Lightning end the campaign with a 9-20-1 overall record, while the Cardinals fall to a 4-20 mark.

In the opener, Lehman jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and added two more in the second, 11 in the third and five more in the fourth, while pitcher
Jireh Espina held York-NY to just two hits and struck out six batters. Outfielder Perez led the Lightning offense going four-for-four with a homer, four runs scored and seven RBI. Espina was four-for-five with three runs scored, three RBI, while Shortstop
Yudelis Pena went three-for-three with run scored and three RBI. Outfielder Lopez was three-for-three with three runs scored and two RBI, while infielder
Patria Sanchez also homered as she went three-for-three with three RBI.
In the nightcap, Lehman had a 4-1 lead early, before scoring four runs in the second inning, then in third, two more in the fourth and three in the fifth for the win. Perez, Pena and infielder
Kaycee Isley all drove in three runs each for the Lightning. Perez also scored four times, while going three-for-three, Pena was two-for-three with a run scored and Isley crossed home plate four times as she was one-for-three. Espina pitched another two-hitter with seven strikeouts.
