Men’s Soccer Fall At New Jersey City

Jersey City, N.J. –  The Lehman College men's soccer team fell by a score of 2-0 to hosts New Jersey City University, in a non-conference encounter, at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletics Complex on Wednesday.  The Lightning go to a 1-5 overall record, while the Gothic Knights improved to a 5-1-1 mark.

After a scoreless opening 25 minutes of play, New Jersey City got on the board two minutes later with a goal from midfielder Thiago Duarte.

In the second half, Lehman looked for the equalizer, however it was the home side that got the tally after defender Hans Zoller scored off an assist from Duarte for the 2-0 final.

The Lightning highlight came from goalkeeper Vitor Deoliveria who made four saves.

Lehman is back in action on Saturday (September 21st) when it travels to take on New Paltz in a non-conference game at 1 pm ET.
