Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team lost a 6-2 CUNYAC match to visiting Hunter College at The APEX Courts on Wednesday.  The Lightning go to a 2-6 overall record and 1-1 in conference play, while the Hawks improved to a 2-3 mark and 2-0 in CUNYAC action.

The highlight for Lehman in doubles encounter was #1 duo of Viola Avdyli/Carolina Lopez as they defeated Hunters' Olivia Salsgubaite/Sara Contreras, 8-2.

In singles action, Lightning's #2-Gabriela Vargas posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Salsgubaite.  Also, Lopez's #1 encounter against Contreras was the only match that wasn't completed due to darkness as the scores were 5-5 in tiebreaker after each one has posted a victory, 6-3 and 4-6, respectively.

Lehman returns to action next Monday (September 30th) as it hosts John Jay College, in a CUNYAC encounter, at The APEX Courts.
