Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team posted an 8-1 victory against visiting John Jay College, in an CUNYAC match, at The APEX Courts, on Monday.  The Lightning improved to a 3-6 overall record and 2-2 in conference play, while the Bloodhounds dropped to a 2-3 mark and 1-3 in CUNYAC action.

Lehman won all three of the doubles encounters to commence the day as Viola Avdyli/Carolina Lopez, Gabriela Vargas/Amya Sanchez and Fernandez Navarrete/Elizabeth Nlemchukwu posted victories in #1 (8-2), #2 (9-7) and #3 (8-0), respectively.

The Lightning also triumphed in five of the six singles matches, as #1-Avdyli (6-0, 6-0), #2-Lopez (6-1, 6-1), #3-Vargas (6-2, 6-2), #5-Navarrete (6-2, 6-1) and #6-Sanchez (6-1, 6-2) were all victorious.

Lehman is back in action next Wednesday (October 9th) when it hosts Mount St. Mary's College-NY, in a non-conference affair, at The APEX Courts with double action starting at 4 pm ET.
