Swimming Sides Drop Home Finale To William Paterson

Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College swimming teams lost their home regular season finale to William Paterson University on Tuesday evening at The APEX pool with the men's side (3-5) dropping a 125-72 decision, while the women's squad (2-7) fell 77-33.

The highlight for the Lightning men was Ronald Sanchez who won three individual races.  Sanchez claimed gold in the 50 Freestyle (22.27), 100 Butterfly (54.68) and 100 Backstroke (59.06).  Jefferson Tejera also finished first in the 100 Freestyle (49.08) and 200 Freestyle (1:50.24).

For the Lehman women, Gisley Velez took top honor in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:20.07.  Velez was also a member of the 200 Freestyle Relay winning side with Lissa Perez, Shivani Raghuthu and Mariella Nunez as they clocked in at 2:55.85.

The Lightning will compete at the CUNYAC Championships next weekend at The APEX Pool.
