Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's volleyball team commenced its 2025 season on Saturday at The APEX Main Gym as it posted a three-set victory (25-19, 25-19, 25-23) against
Pratt Institute and then defeated Bryn Athyn College in five sets (20-25, 26-24, 22-25, 25-17, 15-8).
After the Lightning (2-0) easily took the first two sets over the Pratt Cannoneers (0-3), the third set went back and forth and was tied at 23-23. Lehman then posted consecutive points to win the set and the match.
Emmanuel Cochran and
Almir Pepic hit seven kills each for the Lightning, while
Christian Agudo dished out 21 assists and
Ray Rodriguez grabbed nine digs.
In Lehman's second match of the day, the Bryn Athyn Lions (1-1) had a 2-1 lead going into the fourth set. The Lightning took the fourth set 25-17 and then went on to claim the match after a 15-8 triumph in the fifth set. Cochran notched 17 kills for Lehman, while Pepic posted 12 kills and Rodriguez registered 18 digs. Agudo posted a 'double-double' as he had 41 assists and 12 digs.
The Lightning continue their home stand at The APEX Main Gym on Wednesday (January 29th) when they take on University of Mount Saint Vincent at 7 pm ET.
