Brooklyn, N.Y. – Alanis Vasquez had eight kills and 11 assists to pace the Lehman College women's volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-10, 25-20, 23-25, 25-5) victory against hosts Medgar Evers College, in a CUNYAC match, at the Cougars Cave on Tuesday evening. The Lightning go to a 3-11 overall record and 1-3 in CUNYAC play, while the Cougars dropped to an 0-13 mark and 0-4 in conference action.

After taking the first two sets, Lehman dropped the third set to Medgar Evers as the home side looked for the comeback. However, the Lightning held off the Cougars in the fourth set to win the match.

Abena Abanka, Garyana Altidor, Cheyenne Gray-Taitt and Laura Pinales all notched five kills each for Lehman, while Edith Oblitas dished out 14 assists.

The Lightning are back in action on Friday (October 17th) as it hosts Ramapo College, in a non-conference match, at The APEX Main Gym.
