Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's tennis team blanked visiting Albertus Magnus College, 7-0, in a non-conference match, at The APEX Courts, on Saturday. The Lightning improved to a 4-6 overall record, while the Falcons dropped to a 2-8 mark.

Lehman won two doubles encounters and four singles on the court, while Albertus Magnus also withdrew from three overall matches (two singles, one double) giving the hosts victories as well.

Gabriela Vargas won her #1-doubles, with Amya Sanchez, 6-2, against the Falcons' duo of Shawna Glasgow/Ayanna Perez, while the #2-pair of Fernanda Navarrete/Elizabeth Nlemchukwu defeated Gabby Augustin/Hope Williams of Albertus Magnus, 6-1.

In singles action, #1-Vargas triumphed 6-0, 6-0 over Glasgow, while #2-Sanchez posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Augustin.

Navarrete posted a hard fought 6-2, 4-6, 10-3 win in #3-singles over Williams, while Nlemchukwu was victorious 6-0, 6-0, in #4-singles against Perez.

The Lightning are back in action next Tuesday (October 21st) when it hosts York College-NY, at The APEX Courts, with doubles action commencing at 3:30 pm ET.
