Wayne, N.J. – The Lehman College women's tennis team ended a four-match losing streak with a 6-1 non-conference victory at William Paterson University on Wednesday at the Dr. Ginny Overdorf Courts. The Lightning go to a 3-5 overall record, while the Pioneers dropped to a 1-3 mark.
After Lehman took two of the three doubles matches, Lehman's Amya Sanchez was victorious in #2-singles, 4-6, 7-5, 10-3, over the Allison Stein of William Paterson, while Lightning's Fernanda Navarrete triumph in #3-singles action, 6-4, 6-2, against the Pioneers' Joy Shand.
In #4-singles, Lehman's Elizabeth Nlemchukwu won 6-2, 6-1 over Makayla Yancey of William Paterson, while the Lightning's Mamie Kolley posted a 6-0, 6-0, #4-singles victory against the Pioneers' Anysa Rivera. Ndeye Nidaye rounded out the Lehman triumph in #6-singles after topping Haley Bernard of William Paterson, 6-2, 6-1.
The Lightning return to CUNYAC action on Monday (October 13th) when hosting York College-NY at The APEX Courts with doubles commencing at 3:30 pm ET.
