Heaven Figueroa notched 19 points, nine rebounds and four steals to lead the Lehman College women's basketball team to its second straight win at Goucher College's Renie Amoss Tip Off Classic after defeating Lancaster Bible College, 72-64, at the Decker Sports & Recreation Center on Saturday. The Lightning improved to a 3-2 overall record, while the Chargers dropped to a 0-4 mark.
Lehman jumped out to a 36-31 lead at the intermission. Then, Lancaster went on a 19 to 12 run in the third quarter to get a two-point advantage (50-48). However, the Lightning answered in the fourth period, outscoring the Chargers 24 to 14 for the victory.
Guard
Sage Fanelli registered 18 points with five steals for Lehman, while teammate
Nelson Asamoah posted 12 points and six steals. Guard
Emily Kennedy added 10 points and was a rebound (nine) shy of a 'double-double' for the Lightning.
Lehman returns to action next Saturday (November 22nd) when it once again travels to the state of Maryland as it competes the Governor's Challenge Tournament as it takes on the hosts Salisbury University at 1 pm ET.
